Wandering through the heat of the desert
My skin and heart could just crack
My hope has almost run empty
Got to go forward I can never go back

The banks bent the rules ‘til I snapped
And the lake of my youth’s been sucked dry
My parents have done all that they could
And now it is my time to try

What rules will get me through

Survives in the shade of my wreck

I sit and stare into the stars tonight
As the evening breeze blows the flames high
Then sweeps away my footprints into the dunes
